The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was established by Law 4610/2019; it is part of the School of Health Sciences at the University of the Peloponnese and began operations in the 2019–2020 academic year -2020 with 150 students. The Department is located in the Antikalamos area of Kalamata.

The Department’s mission is to train new scientists who are properly educated in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics.

The Department’s goal is to provide in-depth, evidence-based knowledge and foster critical thinking so that graduates can practice as dietitians and nutritionists, providing nutritional care to individuals and populations, improving their dietary habits, and enhancing the quality of life and well-being of the general population.
