According to Article 174 of Law 4957/2022, scientists who hold at least a doctoral degree and have research experience in a scientific field identical or related to that of their doctoral thesis after obtaining their doctoral degree may, by decision of the Department Assembly, be awarded the title of postdoctoral researcher and be employed at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Greece to carry out postdoctoral research and conduct research, teaching or laboratory work.
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics offers scientists the opportunity to conduct postdoctoral research (PDR) in areas that fall within the research interests and/or cognitive subjects of its Departments, in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations. Postdoctoral research has the following main objectives: a) to extend the results of researchers' doctoral theses into new scientific directions, b) the development of new research areas related to the scientific areas of the researchers' dissertations, c) the contribution to the approach of specific research problems, d) strengthening scientists capable of contributing to the advancement of science, research, and applications, e) promoting the academic prestige and international distinction of the research work of the Department and the University in general.
